The setting sun was reflected on the buildings adjoining Luxexpo, invaded by a real human tide, Sunday evening. For a weekend, the place had been specially refurbished by the Atelier. The Luxexpo Open Air hosted Die Fantastischen Vier on Saturday evening, which played in front of 8,000 people, and Seeed on Sunday, which performed to a sold-out crowd in front of 15,000 people. The Berliners’ show was quite simply the biggest concert of the year.

Phenomenon in Germany, where the group is sold out almost everywhere, including eight dates at home in Berlin, Seeed never fails to stop in Luxembourg. Almost three years after coming to present their last album, “Bam Bam”, the formation created in 1998 returned to offer their positive vibes, with an undeniable sense of groove and party.

A short set

A dozen musicians landed on stage, the brass section, choristers, drummer and percussionist supporting the two singers, Peter Fox and Frank Dellé, orphans of their sidekick Demba Nabé, who died in 2018 and to whom they dedicated “You & I” . Seeed’s latest album was of course in the spotlight, with the effective “Ticket” and “Lass sie gehn”, the festive “Love & Courvoisier” and “Komm in mein haus”, title in lover mode.

Their famous cover of Black, “Wonderful Life” and the kidnapped “Molotov” were also in the game. The melodies, the irresistible rhythms, the warmth of the brass: a festive spirit spread over the Kirchberg, despite a somewhat short set.
