Madrid hits bottom against Alava (1-2)

Three days before the carobs were played in the Champions League, Real Madrid lost at home against Alava (1-2). The Basque team humiliated a white team with no ideas or character. Lucas Pérez opened the scoring in the 5th minute by converting a penalty and Joselu widened the visiting gap in the 49th minute. The only local goal was scored by Casemiro in the 86th minute. The defeat at the stadium Alfredo Di Stefano leaves Zinedine Zidane against the ropes.

Despite having played one more game, Real Madrid was six points away from Atletico Madrid. Unresponsive and disorienting in a season in which he is being penalized with more penalties than usual, the white team was overtaken by a rival with much more energy. Belgian Eden Hazard was substituted 28 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. The Brazilian Rodrygo took his place on the grass. Alabès scored two goals, but had opportunities to extend the lead. Courtois, for example, saved a one-on-one with Lucas Pérez and Joselu wasted a good position to score the third visiting goal.
Despite Zidane’s changes, Madrid were unable to change course and react against an Alava player who proved to be better prepared for the match. The second half highlighted the current shortcomings of the reigning league champions. Mariano was the only local player to create danger in the final stretch, in which Madrid sought a heroic comeback.

The only local goal came just minutes from the end, when Casemiro sent the ball into the net. Exhausted by the effort made during the 90 minutes, the Alava suffered a lot to maintain the result in a final stretch in which Real Madrid was left with a palm of his nose, as he was not able to transform a goal that it would have allowed him to save a point.

Victory of the Athletic one of Madrid (0-1)

A goal by Toni Lato in his own goal ten minutes from the end gave him the victory yesterday against Atlético de Madrid against Valencia (0-1) in a match in which the Madrid team took the initiative, controlled the game and barely gave the opponent a choice.

Valencia was stronger in defense than in other games, but lacked the ability to set the pace of the match and, especially, to reach the goal of Atletico Madrid, apart from having the misfortune to score in own door. “In football and in life you have to look ahead, take care of what is done well and follow the path. If you stop, the wave will take you away “, explained Diego Simeone, coach of the mattress set.
