Lucknow: The Prime Minister and other top leaders have expressed their condolences on the death of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad President Mahant Narendra Giri.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the death of Mahant Narendra Giri is extremely sad.
“He was devoted to the spiritual tradition and played a major role in uniting the many branches of the monastic community,” he said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed condolences over the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, saying his death was an irreparable loss.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also offered condolences on the death of Mahant Narendra Giri.

Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead at his monastery in Prayag Raj in Uttar Pradesh. The body was found hanging from a rope. The incident happened on Monday evening.
The national media quoted Prayag Raj Superintendent of Police as saying that it was suspected to be a suicide at first glance. Meanwhile, a detailed probe into the death of Mahant Narendra Giri is underway. Various government agencies, including the forensic team, visited the monastery and conducted inspections.
A suicide note was also found at the residence of Mahant Narendra Giri. Police arrested Anand Giri, a student, and two others, according to the names mentioned in the note. Anand Giri was arrested from Haridwar with the help of Uttarakhand police.
But hours before his arrest, his disciple Anand Giri told Zee News that Mahant Narendra Giri had been killed and that a thorough investigation was needed. Anand Giri said that some people were trying to create a rift between him and Guruji and that when he last spoke to Guruji, he was perfectly healthy.
