Malayalam News – Protest on social media against govt for not announcing prize to PR Sreejesh | News18 Kerala, Sports Latest Malayalam News

Indian hockey team goalkeeper and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist PR Sreejesh has not been announced yet. Fans have criticized the Kerala government for insulting and neglecting the country’s proudest sportsperson. Fans say that Sreejesh should have announced the award first in Kerala but it did not happen.

The Kerala Hockey Federation has so far announced only Rs 5 lakh for Sreejesh. Sreejesh is currently an official in the education department. Therefore, there is no point in giving government jobs anymore. Malayalee cricketer Sreesanth was paid Rs 5 lakh when he won the World Cup. There are rumors that the same may be happening here with Sreejesh.

Meanwhile, the government had decided to give a handkerchief and a shirt to Sreejesh, who won an Olympic medal. The handloom department under the Government of Kerala provides Sreejesh with a shirt and pants. At the same time, many other states are ready to welcome Sreejesh by giving him crores.

Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar has announced that Neeraj Chopra, who won the country’s first gold medal in athletics, will get Rs 6 crore and a Class One government job. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also announced Rs 2 crore for Neeraj. In addition, the Haryana government has announced Rs 1 crore for hockey team members.

India has won a medal in hockey for the last four decades. At the Tokyo Olympics, India defeated Germany by five goals to four to make history.

Sreejesh’s smashing saves often saved the Indian team, which thrashed Germany by five goals to four in a thrilling nine – goal bronze medal match. With just seconds left in the match, Germany were awarded a penalty corner by India and all the Indians were on edge. However, the Indian team won the toss and elected to field.

This is the first medal won by the Indian team since the 1980 Moscow Olympics. India’s last medal in hockey was gold in Moscow. Then and now India is winning a medal. This is India’s third bronze medal in the history of the Olympics. India has won eight gold, one silver and three bronze medals in hockey at the Olympics.
