Old Trafford: Manchester United start with victory under new coach Ralph Rangnick. United beat Crystal Palace 1-0. Ralph Rangnik’s dream start at the Theater of Dreams was scored by Brazilian star Fred. Fred’s winning goal came in the 77th minute from an assist by Mason Greenwood.
Fans saw United as more consistent under the appointed rank-and-file in place of the ousted Ole Soulshire. Had luck been with them, more balls would have landed in the Crystal Palace net. United were able to hold the ball longer, pass passes and score shots. Ralph Ranknick is the third coach to start with a win since Alexis Ferguson stepped down in 2013.
Tottenham beat Norwich City 3-0 in another Premier League match. Tottenham were ahead of Lucas Maura’s goal in the first half. Maura scored in the 10th minute. Tottenham’s goals were scored by Devinson Sanchez and Son Hyung Min in the second half. Sanchez scored in the 67th minute and Son Min in the 77th minute. This is Tottenham’s third consecutive win in the league.
Aston Villa beat Leicester City in another match in the English Premier League. The victory was by two goals to one. Ezri Konsa (17, 54) scored a double. Lester’s defeat came in the 14th minute when Harvey Barnes’ goal gave them the lead. With the win, Aston Villa overtook Leicester to reach the top ten. Both teams have 19 points from 15 games.
