many candidates have already stopped the adventure…

This Sunday, it will be the culmination of a journey for some 180 candidates registered for Miss Belgium. Among them, 70 come from Wallonia and Brussels. In Plopsaland, they will try to win the crown of Miss (or runner-up) of their province. Let us note in passing that they are likely to be less than 70: this number was that announced in July when the girls were included in the traditional directory of candidates but, since then, water has flowed under the bridges as they say and several young women, both Walloon and Flemish, stopped the adventure along the way and will therefore not be present on stage today.

For those who will be there, it is therefore a great day since the provincial final of each Walloon, Flemish and Brussels province will make it possible to designate the Miss in title, her two runners-up as well as “crown cards”, that is to say say girls who are a favorite of the jury. All these candidates (the Misses, runners-up and favourites) will meet again in a few weeks to pass before a jury which will select the 30 to 32 finalists for Miss Belgium 2023. These will fly away, at the end of November, for a destination sunny, probably Egypt, for the traditional trip of the finalists. After which, they will continue to dream of the national final (and its crown) scheduled for February 2023.

Personal act

But before that, it’s time for the provincial finals this afternoon to choose a Miss from among the 15 for the province of Liège, the 15 for Hainaut, 11 for Brussels, 11 for Walloon Brabant, 8 for the province of Luxembourg and 10 for that of Namur. Candidates will be invited to introduce themselves, parade, dance and even show a personal act (which may consist of a sports demonstration, a song, a poem, etc.) to try to convince the jury.

The Walloon and Brussels results should be known at the start of the evening, after which the finals of the Flemish provinces will take place in the same room.
