In Beauraing, it is called Manza. For civil status, it’s Michaël Manzanera. The man has been running a snack-sandwich shop on rue de Dinant for several years, right in the city center currently under construction, for the development of a new crossroads.
For several weeks, when he does his accounts, Manza sees a difference: the shipyard is putting a brake on business. “Casually, the site has been impacting us for three months, it affects us, but we adapt. The clientele comes, but there is a drop. But the work has to be done.“
But he is not the type to complain and send angry letters to complain. He opted for another technique: positivism. He knows that the construction site is a necessary evil and he is crossing his fingers that the result will live up to expectations: bringing more people back to the heart of the city.
Under the paving stones, the terrace
Waiting for better days, the people of Beauri have a touch of humour. On weekends, he has fun placing banners on the site to remind people that it exists and that it is open. And if some imagine the beach under the cobblestones, Beaurinois see it as a temporary terrace! He does not hesitate to install tables and chairs in the works to welcome his customers. This in a secure way and when the site is at a standstill.
Since work began, Manza has remained open every day. He communicates in a humorous way on social networks to let people know.

During the sale, Michaël Manzanera places his tables in the street which is at the back of his business. In doing so, he teams up with another merchant to bring life to another street in the Marian city.
