A 62-year-old hypertensive woman died of covid-19 coronavirus in Maracaibo. The case is linked to the outbreak detected in the Las Pulgas market, President Nicolás Maduro reported Monday night, June 1.
The Head of State indicated that there were two other deaths, due to the same disease. A 3-year-old boy (with hydrocephalus) from Lara state and a 51-year-old man. Of this contagion it was said that the man had been an escort of the private food company of the Mirandina entity.
The national total of deaths from covid-19 rises to 17.
Similarly, Maduro indicated that this Monday Venezuela confirmed 152 new cases of covid-19, to raise the total number of infections to 1,662. There are six by community transmission and 146 infections imported from Brazil and Colombia, which were detected at the borders, reported President Nicolás Maduro.
Goal for flexibility in Zulia
During the television contact, President Nicolás Maduro spoke with Governor Omar Prieto.
The President let him know that he trusts that, with all the sanitary measures, in the next cycle of 5 × 10 – which will begin approximately on June 16 – Zulia actively joins the “flexibilization of quarantine”.
Prieto replied: “We are sure that we are on the right track and that the entire Zulia will also have a new organized and controlled relative normality.”
