The architect Pierre Onzaga, promoter of the demonstrations, and the president of the House of Representatives, David Racero, recently discussed in a local environment about the reasons that led to the calling of the protest.
In such a way that Onzaga said that one of the main reasons for leaving is the tax reform filed by the Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampo. “We found that they have told the country that this reform was for the 4,000 richest Colombians, but it seems to be for the 48 million richest Colombians. In turn, the president of the House of Representatives, David Racero, explained that there is a full right to march and demonstrate for all citizens who so wish. However, he also expressed his opinion regarding the ongoing call to mobilize against the decisions made by the Petro government.
“The organizers of this mobilization have called it ‘against the reforms’. It is a call that refuses to reform the country. It is a call for those who, perhaps, can consider that the country is doing well. It is perhaps worrying or contrary to the general feeling of the country. If it were a position of national common sense, perhaps President Gustavo Petro would not have the popular support that he has and that shows how well the president has been performing without having served two months yet, ” Racero explained.
