This is a huge success to recover the trials of Maria Zambrano about Pérez Galdós, whom so many incidents and editorial difficulties had prevented him from reaching the general public naturally and spurring a deeper meditation on the ultimate meaning of his narrative. Now gathered by Professor José Luis Mora, together with an introduction where realizes the circumstances in which they were written and the sad incidents that they had to endure to reach its full diffusion, constitute one of the most suggestive contributions to the current centenary of Galdós’s death. Because in its brief pages the most penetrating and substantial reflection that has been written about Galdosian work so far is condensed.
