Mathieu eliminated, tensions … What to remember from episode 3?

TOP CHEF 2021. Episode 3 of Top Chef was rich in twists and turns, between Charline’s frustration and Arnaud’s daring trompe-l’oeil. It was finally Mathieu from Philippe Etchebest’s brigade who left the competition.

[Mis à jour le 25  février 2021 à 9h11] The episode 3 of Top Chef, broadcast on February 24, 2021 on M6, was rich in rebound on the side of viewers. The candidates had to decide between themselves on two tests before the last chance: a duel of brigades on the theme of the potato, then the test of the trompe-l’oeil. During the first round, the brigades of Paul Pairet and Hélène Darroze qualified with flying colors. On the side of the brigade of Philippe Etchebest, tensions emerged within the blue team: Charline struggled to impose herself and give her opinion on the recipe, while Matthias did not listen to her recommendations. The Objectif Top Chef winner, on the verge of tears during the event, felt left out.

The trompe-l’oeil test also made the followers of Top Chef react a lot. Spanish chef Andoni Aduriz challenged applicants who did not qualify to make a trompe-l’oeil that is not edible at first glance. Arnaud, from the brigade of Michel sarran, took the concept very far by giving an aspect of excrement to its recipe. If the risk-taking has greatly amused Internet users, this is not the case for the chief of the event who disqualified his dish on the visual. He then praised Matthias’ candlestick, who automatically qualified for the rest of the M6 culinary competition. It was finally Arnaud and Mathieu who faced each other at the last chance. The young Belgian candidate from Philippe Etchebest’s brigade was finally eliminated from Top Chef 2021.
