McLaren F1 acknowledges the possibility of Daniel Ricciardo’s seat loss[F1-Gate .com]

Daniel Ricciardo may be fired from the McLaren F1 after the end of the 2022 season.

In Monaco, Daniel Ricciardo mistakenly admitted that his term would end this year, causing confusion.

“That’s clear. We have a contract until the end of 23,” Daniel Ricciardo said before the crash in the Monaco Grand Prix practice.

“The new Coronavirus has ruined me and has been confusing for years.”

However, in the paddock, it is rumored that McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown is seriously considering replacing Daniel Ricciardo in 2023.

“Paper is more patient than it is,” former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher told Sky Deutschland.

“If we don’t stay that way, we won’t see him at McLaren next year. Rumors and statements from the team are getting bigger and bigger.”

“He’s too far from his teammates”

In fact, Zak Brown did not talk about the current contract, revealing that a particular “mechanism” would allow McLaren to break up with Ricardo.

“For now, it’s not a single race in particular, but we’re watching how it evolves and what Daniel himself wants to do next,” Zak Brown said.

Daniel Ricciardo told Sport1 that he had never been “personally” criticized by Zak Brown.

“The truth is yes. I didn’t have a great time this year,” said Daniel Ricciardo.

“So it’s normal for people to look at me critically.”

“Obviously I want him to say good things about me, but McLaren’s expectations for me are obviously high, which is actually positive.”

Daniel Ricciardo admits that McLaren’s entire tenure has been “more difficult than ever.”

“HRT and Toro Rosso didn’t have this problem,” said Daniel Ricciardo.

“Even if it was a bad race, there was consistency and speed.”

“So it’s hard to understand, and it’s rare to get a black-and-white answer as to why I couldn’t find 0.3 seconds that weekend.”

“The important thing is to stay focused and not lose confidence, but I’m sure I’m not too old and I’m not losing my skills and driving.”

“The fire is still burning, otherwise I wouldn’t be here anymore.”
