McLaren F1 realizes 0.5 seconds up by upgrade? / Spanish Grand Prix[F1-Gate .com]

F1 journalist Lawrence Barrett reports that the McLaren F1 could achieve a 0.5 second improvement per lap with the upgrade to the MCL36 at the Spanish Grand Prix.

McLaren, who performed outstandingly in the first pre-season test in Barcelona, wanted to finally compete for the title again, but in the second test in Bahrain, the car suffered from brake cooling problems. After that, the aftereffects ended until the opening round.

However, a quick fix has since made progress for McLaren, with Lando Norris on the podium in 3rd place at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Andreas Seidl, McLaren F1 team representative, has already confirmed that an upgrade is planned for the Spanish Grand Prix.

“We are bringing some upgrades to our car for the Spanish weekend,” said Andreas Seidl.

“I think it was a very busy week with many teams making changes ahead of Barcelona. The fight for points will continue.”

Tobi Grüner of Auto Motor und Sport pointed out the new carbon fiber brake duct installed in the MCL36.

“Old titanium parts are finally gone,” said Tobi Gruner.
