Medellín: man in a wheelchair denounces that EasyFly took him off the plane – Medellín – Colombia

Carlos José Ramón, a disabled man, denounced this Sunday, July 24, that the airline EasyFly made him get off the plane when he was planning to go home to Bucaramanga.

According to the complainant, the event occurred at 10 am when the man in a wheelchair was told that the battery he was using could not be transported on the plane.

However, Carlos and his companion They assured that they had been traveling without problems on different airlines from Bolivia.

Both just came from a meeting of the LINC Latin America Network, a regional network for inclusive education, a Network of which Carlos is the director.

After the annoyance of the man and his companion for the situation and for what they considered a violation of their rights, the Police made them get off the plane.

Without a solution to the situation, the man was forced to travel to the José María Córdova International Airport in search of a flight that would allow him to travel with his wheelchair.

EasyFly, for its part, assured that the passenger’s condition had nothing to do with the decision to remove him from the aircraft.

“The passenger was not lowered due to his condition since we are an inclusive airline. However, improper behavior of aggressiveness, hostility and disrespect can affect the safety of the flight, affecting our crew, passengers, among others,” the airline said in networks due to the amount of criticism they have received.

Also, they assert that the passenger was removed from the aircraft due to the improper behavior of him and his companion. “As our crew inquired about the material in the battery of his wheelchair, affecting the safety of the flight by being disruptive passengers.”
