The Dominican Society for the History of Medicine (SODHISMED) carried out its electoral process, in which a single group led by the doctors participated. Hector Eusebio Polanco, president; and Reynolds J. Pérez Stefan, Vice President, respectively.
The president of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Fernando Sanchez MartinezDr. Polanco was declared the winner for the period 2023-2025 with 100% of the votes cast, who said that he will continue to promote the plans and projects of the outgoing board regarding the enhancement and bibliographic component of doctors and the Homeland.
The doctor stated that It will work with the removal and restoration of murals, as well as the implementation of workshops, conferences and the holding of a congress on the history of medicine, to be implemented in conjunction with universities.
“By statutory mandates, you have to carry out an annual activity with Adofem and visit hospitals with the names of distinguished doctors, in order to rescue their legacy in professional and ethical terms,” said Dr. Fernando Sánchez Martínez.
The winning plate, in addition, is made up of doctors Gregory Gutierrez, secretary; Elpidio De Jesus, library; Michael Montalvo, treasurer. While Dr. Alejandro Pichardo, Marcos Nunez and Elizabeth Kunhardt will be the vocals.
