Medina Baye: Caliph’s statement on Gamou postponed to a later date

The statement that the Caliph of Medina Baye, Sheikh Mouhamadoul Mahi Ibrahim Niass, was to make Thursday on the organization of the Mawlid, was postponed to a later date due to the death of the marabout Cheikh Abdoulaye Wilane of Kaffrine, reports the Aps.

As a reminder, the Caliph Medina Baye was to make Thursday at 1 p.m., a statement focused on the organization of the Mawlid, the religious event commemorating the birth of the Prophet Mohamed.

The Gamou, celebrated by most of the Muslim community in Senegal, should be held this year in a context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic which has raged in the country since March.
