Mikati mourned President Hussein Al-Husseini: Lebanon has lost an authentic national and constitutional stature today

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati saw that Lebanon has today lost an authentic national and constitutional figure, which is President Hussein al-Husseini, considering that in his absence a bright page in the history of ancient political and parliamentary work will be closed.

In a statement, he indicated that “the presence of President Hussein Al-Husseini constituted a milestone in the history of parliamentary work in Lebanon, and marked the legislative work with basic steps over many years. His pioneering role in the era of the “Taif Agreement” conference had a great merit in approving the “National Accord Document” that It ended the Lebanese war. He also knew, with his patriotic sense and deep awareness of Lebanon’s specificity and role, how to secure the Lebanese balances at the heart of constitutional reforms that constitute a guarantee of stability in Lebanon, if they were fully implemented and completed.

He said: “With the absence of President Hussein Al-Husseini, we and our family lose a brother and friend who was always the best advisor and follower, and I was proud and proud of what he used to say humbly, and the advice he was giving, because he hoarded a lot of political and national experiences.”

He added, “Mr. President, we bid you farewell today, but you will remain forever in our conscience and in our national memory. A statesman par excellence, his passage was not ordinary, but he left indelible imprints, and history will record them with appreciation and pride.”
