Minneapolis Star Tribune honored for coverage of George Floyd’s death

The most prestigious awards in the American press, the Pulitzer Prizes have been awarded since 1917.

Several of the prizes awarded this year were for the coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, others for that of the protest movements that emerged in May 2020 in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, killed by police during of his arrest.

“Media groups in this country have had to grapple with the complexity of covering the global pandemic, surge in racial consideration and a bitterly contested presidential election,” commented Mindy Marques, who co-chairs the board of directors. of the Pulitzer Prize, during a ceremony broadcast on the internet.
