Miscellaneous – Justice | The A51 still closed after Meyrargues and towards Gap, it was a truck transporting hazardous materials that caught fire

This morning around 5 a.m., around twenty firefighters and seven vehicles intervened on the A51, just after the Meyrargues toll and towards Gap. A truck containing liquid air caught fire. Consequently the highway closed between Pertuis and Cadarache, direction Aix-La Saulce. And it still is. Rescuers are still on scene and the fire is under control. As these are hazardous materials, it should take some time for the area to be secured and the vehicle to be evacuated. “It is only once the transfer is complete that the repair operations of the heavy goods vehicle can be carried out and the tracks can be returned to traffic”indicates Vinci highways.
