Mohring no longer wants to run as CDU national party leader

Erfurt – Mike Mohring, head of the Thuringian CDU, has announced as a consequence of the crisis in the formation of the government in Thuringia that he will retire as regional party leader. He did not want to stand in the way of a reorganization of his party, he said in a video on Twitter. Mohring wants to propose to the CDU state board that the state party convention be brought forward with new elections. To pacify the party, personal interests would have to be put on hold, said Mohring.
