Monaco makes Barça win (81-85)

BarcelonaBarça visited Monaco yesterday on such a special track with the desire to party, as the Principality team makes its debut in the Euroleague this season and does so after being proclaimed champions of the last edition of the Eurocup . The Monegasque team, which was present at the meeting after suffering a defeat on Wednesday against Real Madrid, made the players of Jasikevicius sweat bravely, who again needed an overtime to take the victory (81-85 ).

Barça jumped into the small Salle Gatson Medecin in Monaco with little intensity and this translated into a sealed first quarter with a poor 12 points, ten less than their rival. The entrance of Calathes reactivated a little the azulgrana set, that sometimes seemed that it attended, like another fan, the recital of Mike James, that in spite of not being 100% physically signed a great action, as already it had demonstrated against Real Madrid. Despite the lack of success, Barça managed not to lose the pulse of the game and reached the break with a difference of only four points below the rival (35-31).

The fact that Barça left the game was largely thanks to the defensive work and, especially, to Brandon Davies (and also to Nico Laprovittola). The contribution of the American pivot was decisive in bringing the duel to extra time after a hard-fought second half and before Barça’s final push. Davies closed the match with 27 points, 10 rebounds and a 38 rating, being the best of Barça by far.
