The Seventh Day TV provided special coverage about serious medical warnings of a deadly strain that is expected to spread at the beginning of winter, as it is described as more dangerous than Corona and poses a major threat to health.
The coverage indicated that one of Britain’s top health experts warned of a “deadly strain” of the influenza virus that is currently spreading around the world, and confirmed that it may pose a greater threat to public health than Corona during the next winter.
“Covid 19 will continue to be a major challenge for the authorities, but the low levels of residual immunity to influenza in the general population are worrying, and she specifically stressed the seriousness of the H3N2 strain,” said Susan Hopkins, chief medical adviser at the UK’s Health Security Agency.
The coverage about the expert’s expectations added that influenza and other respiratory diseases will rebound this winter, having been largely addressed through closures and social distancing during the Corona epidemic.
Susan Hopkins said: “Influenza and corona are unpredictable, but there are strong indications that we may face the risk of a wide spread of influenza, as levels of natural immunity have decreased due to lack of mixing during the past three winters with the increase in the spread of Covid 19.”
