more than 750 patients treated in intensive care, nearly 40 deaths on average per day

In total, 3,698 people are still hospitalized due to Covid-19, including 757 patients treated in intensive care.

All indicators continue to increase, except for a very slight decline in the virus reproduction rate, which is now 1.07 (-4%). When it is greater than 1, however, this indicator means that the epidemic is still tending to accelerate.

Between November 20 and 26, 17,796 new Sars-CoV-2 infections were detected on average per day, up 15% from the previous week. Since the start of the pandemic in Belgium, more than 1.7 million cases of coronavirus infection have been diagnosed.

Over the period studied, an average of 39 people died per day from the virus (+ 15%), bringing the toll to 26,966 deaths since the start of the health crisis in Belgium.

Some 117,600 tests on average were also performed daily, for a positivity rate of 16.1%.

The incidence, which indicates the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 2,025 over 14 days.
