More than one in five Quebec households finds that their financial situation has deteriorated

According to a survey, the people of Quebec are the ones who are holding up the best against inflation.

A third of Canadian households (34%) say their financial situation has deteriorated over the past year. In Quebec, this figure drops to 22%, or one in five households.

Nationally, low-income households (less than 40,000 per year) are the most affected. They were 42% to estimate that their financial situation had worsened while among the richest, those who earn more than 100,000 per year, only 25% thought the same thing.

Tenants were also more likely (38%) than homeowners (31%) to say their financial situation has deteriorated.

Finally, people of color (38%) were also more likely to say that their financial situation had gotten worse than white people (32%).

The online survey was completed by 1,554 Canadians.
