A total of 234 new cases of coronavirus infection and 493 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Morocco, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday, stressing that 550,149 people have been vaccinated so far. .
The new report brings to 475,589 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported last March and to 454,997 that of recovered people, i.e. a cure rate of 95.7%, the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the situation of the Covid-19.
The total number of deaths rose to 8,408, with 14 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.8%, the same source noted.
For the cases of death, 4 were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 3 in Marrakech-Safi, 2 in the Oriental, 2 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 2 in Souss-Massa and 1 in Fès-Meknes.
New cases of contamination have been identified in the regions of Oriental (60), Casablanca-Settat (52), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (50), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (24), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab ( 16), Souss-Massa (10), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (10), Marrakech-Safi (04), Drâa-Tafilalet (04), Fès-Meknès (03) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (01).
The number of active cases stands at 12,184, while severe or critical cases number 585, including 41 placed under intubation, according to the ministry.
