Morocco represented as a major figure in the field on the African continent

(Ecofin Agency) – The international air show opened its doors on Monday July 18 in Farnborough in the United Kingdom. The opportunity for some countries like Morocco, whose aeronautical sector is booming, to attract more investors to stimulate this area perceived as vital for the economy.

Morocco marks its presence this year at the Farnborough International Air Show (United Kingdom) with a delegation, made up of officials and professionals from the sector and mandated to promote the country’s assets and secure business opportunities from investors.

The Kingdom is represented through a pavilion of 120 m2 to this high mass of the aeronautics industry which brings together up to 1,500 exhibitors from nearly 96 countries around the world, with major players in the sector such as Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, ATR, Bombardier, Safran, Raytheon Technologies.

The sector, which had only 2 players until 2005, has since experienced rapid development with more than 140 companies, including branches of Thalès (France), Hexcel (USA), Spirit Aerosystems (USA), Sabca and Sabena Aerospace (Belgium) and others, according to a study by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry published in 2020.

This industry generates around $2 billion in turnover per year, making Morocco the leading exporter of aeronautical products in Africa since 2018. The country is now considered one of the most attractive in the world for the installation subcontractors.
