Morocco’s Digital Transition Inspires Africa: Insights from GITEX Africa CEO, Trixie LohMirmand

Marrakech – Morocco is a source of inspiration for Africa to accelerate the digital transition, said Thursday in Marrakech, Ms. Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of Kaoun International, organizer of GITEX Africa.

“By investing in the digital transition, several Moroccan industries now offer excellent examples of the exploitation and assimilation of the latest technologies to achieve convincing results,” said Ms. Loh Mirmand in an interview with M24, MAP’s continuous news television channel, on the sidelines of the work of the first edition of GITEX AFRICA, a flagship event placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

“Morocco thus offers a great inspiration for other countries of the Continent”, she continued, affirming that this large-scale Salon is “the platform which shows the world what Morocco is capable of and what it can do to further inspire the rest of the African continent”.

In this sense, the CEO of Kaoun International welcomed the “strong” commitment of the Moroccan government to make a success of the digital transition, indicating that this commitment is illustrated, in particular by the selection of 100 Moroccan startups to present their projects at Gitex Africa, in order to have the opportunity to connect with investors and startups from all regions of the world, with a view to strengthening their competitiveness and expertise.

“This strong commitment motivated our choice of Morocco to organize Gitex Africa, a commitment expressed by the means made available to companies, start-ups and investors, as well as by the strategies put in place by the supervisory ministry to succeed in the digital transition of the Moroccan economy,” she said, adding that the Kingdom has “enormous hopes as well as great ambitions” in this area.

In the process, Mrs. LohMirmand, underlined that the Kingdom, which “constitutes a very strategic gateway to Africa”, has very strong industries (finance, automobile, agriculture, etc.) and a future-oriented road for the digital transition of its economy.

Regarding the choice of Marrakech to host the work of the first edition of GITEX AFRICA, the boss of Kaoun International indicated that the Ocher City, which is in the top 10 of the best world destinations by TripAdvisor, has excellent infrastructures. to welcome delegates from all over the world, the time to take part in Gitex Africa.

“Marrakech enjoys a very safe environment and excellent infrastructure on which we can count,” she said, saying she was very proud to see that this event enjoys above all, great government support.

While expressing her gratitude to the Moroccan government and people for their hospitality and friendship, Ms. LohMirmand said she was “very satisfied with the positive atmosphere that reigned throughout this Fair. “I think the global community visiting the Salon felt the same hospitality and friendship from the Moroccan people and government,” she said.
