Italian sports media revealed that the new coach of Roma, Jose Mourinho, offered his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo to join his team if he left Juventus.
And the “SportMediaset” network reported that Mourinho contacted Ronaldo amid rumors of his departure from Juventus, and confirmed that the Portuguese coach suggested to his compatriot the option of joining the Roma club.
The source claimed that Ronaldo, 36, may prefer to stay in Italy if he decides to leave Juventus, because of the tax system in this country, which appeals to the “Don”.
Ronaldo joined Juventus in the summer of 2018, and has a contract with him that extends until the summer of 2022.
Juventus finished fourth in the Italian Serie A last season, and narrowly booked its place in the Champions League, while Roma occupied seventh place.
It should be noted that Ronaldo was crowned the Italian league’s top scorer last season, becoming the first player in history to achieve this achievement in three of the five major leagues (the English Premier League, the Spanish League, and the Italian League).
