The Public Ministry requested the arrest of Harold Charinga Martínez, who allegedly posed as a neurologist in Carabobo state and thereby managed to defraud a large number of people for several years who trusted his service.
The Prosecutor’s Office acted after a series of complaints made on social networks by the digital strategist Irrael Gómez, who echoed the allegations of several patients who were affected by the false doctor.
Charinga Martínez will be charged with the crimes of illegal practice of medicine, forging of a false public document, use of a false public document and usurpation of functions, said Tarek William Saab, head of the MP appointed by the defunct Constituent Assembly.
This person, according to various profiles on internet accounts, identified himself as a pediatrician, neurologist, neurosurgeon and neurosurgeon. With this false resume, he claimed to practice in private clinics in Carabobo such as Guerra Méndez in Valencia, the Los Fundadores Clinical Center in Bejuma and also in foundations that help minors.
Charinga, in addition to alleged documents and forged titles, used credentials belonging to real doctors, such as the registration number before the Ministry of Health 67,328, which actually belongs to the Carabobeña urologist Francis Melina Pinto, who currently practices his profession in Chile.
He also presented an identification number to the Miranda State Medical Association, yet to be determined if it belongs to a practicing physician.
According to Irrael Gómez, one of the inconsistencies found in Charinga’s medical profile is that to graduate in each specialty, 23 years of studies are needed, which the digital marketing specialist described as “impossible” for a person who graduated in 2004.
In addition, it was unofficially known that there are patients, both adults and children, complicated by the medical malpractice of this man. He also has reports of irregular activities as a beautician in a clinic in eastern Caracas.
The institutions that Harold Charinga included in his resume, after knowing this news, dissociated themselves from him and denied, as did the UCV, that he has a university degree.
