A woman raged on Munich’s Promenadeplatz on Monday evening. The aim of their attack: the pictures and memorabilia that fans of the late pop singer Michael Jackson have placed between the trees at the monument to the Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso. Shortly before midnight, the police operations center was informed by passers-by that a woman was destroying objects placed and attached to the statue.
The police officers met a 57-year-old resident of Munich at the named location. She was taken to a police station and charged with vandalism. The police have taken over further investigations. The composer’s bronze created by Max von Widnmann in 1849 remained undamaged.
