Nacional wins the classic against Junior at the Atanasio Girardot

It wasn’t the perfect game that fully affirmed his start to the season, but beating Junior 3-1 in his reappearance at the Atanasio Girardot helped Atlético Nacional gain confidence and in the table, and show that he was right with his reinforcements for what Alex Mejía, Daniel Mantilla and Álvaro Angulo contributed to have a good presentation before the fans and celebrate on the second date of the I-2022 League.

Another well-played first half for the purslane, but the lack of efficiency prevented Alejandro Restrepo from going down to the dressing room calmly. An own goal by Didier Moreno at 6 ‘allowed the locals to go up on the scoreboard and have most of the control of the game, but the waste of Jarlan, Mantilla and even Candelo put pressure again on the Antioquian team.

He did everything almost well, except define. Felipe Aguilar found a runner to go out playing and start the offensive plays at will. Alex Mejía also lent a hand in this, as did the rojiblancos, who even let the central defender progress to the area to create a situation with Jéfferson Duque due to the lack of filter and high pressure from the visitor.

The best for the Barranquilla team was put by Homer Martínez with a mid-range shot that Kevin Mier deflected. Edwuin Cetré also appeared in another passage, but not clearly because the performance of the collective was not good. In still ball could not make a difference either.

In the midst of the changes made by Juan Cruz Real for the second date, the generation cost. Yesus Cabrera appeared a little removed from the area and Fernando Uribe the game never found him in the first 45 minutes.

Mantilla scores his first goal with Nacional

For the nationalist squad, options abounded. The clearest came in a double action, the first with Jarlan Barrera, which Sebastián Viera managed to stop, but in the second it was Mantilla who wasted. Before the break, the Uruguayan goalkeeper was a hero to prevent his rival from extending the lead.

The most earthy Tiburón without Borja, Hinestroza and Cariaco, his national team players, tried to go to the front and loosen more on Omar Albornoz, but his rival soon resolved to avoid repeating the film with Cortuluá. The Jarlan and Mantilla duo did not fail this time and the Santanderean celebrated his first goal as purslane at 51′.

Fabián Sambueza and Fabián Ángel to the field as a shock but the coastal team did not manage to become really dangerous, but remained in the game because the owner of the patio did not resolve Yeison Guzmán’s one-on-one with Viera, which the Uruguayan won.

Carmelo replaced Albornoz to give Uribe more time, who in his debut barely appeared 67′, but his goal was invalidated amid boos from the stands. Cetré added a couple of approaches for the visitor, but the Pereira striker, who came from Millonarios, was in charge of getting the discount at 76′ with Tutunendo working for him.

To bring calm and close the commitment, Rifle Andrade entered, who took charge of the situation and he scared the first one he touched. But the game was losing pace and the local decided to make use of all the substitutions, including Dorlan Pabón and Jhon Duque to debut with his new team. In the end, to round off a night that was getting complicated, Memín appeared to settle against Viera in replacement time with 3-1.

On the next day, Nacional will visit Millionaires in El Campín, while Junior will receive La Equidad at the Metropolitano.
