NASA: An asteroid taller than the Burj Khalifa is approaching Earth

The American space agency “NASA” announced that an asteroid taller than any building on Earth will pass near our planet today, January 18, 2022.

And “NASA” indicated that the asteroid, called 7482 (1994 PC1), is more than a kilometer wide and 1,052 meters (3,451 feet) tall, according to RT quoted Sky News.

This asteroid is therefore taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (the tallest building in the world), which has a height of 830 meters (2,723 feet).

NASA’s Asteroid Watch Twitter account confirmed that the asteroid does not pose a threat to Earth.

She said that the asteroid “is very well known and has been studied for decades by our planetary defense experts,” noting that “1994 PC1 will fly safely across our planet 1.2 million miles away on Tuesday,” and this distance is five times the distance of the Moon from Earth.
