Navy and fishermen found the body of a child dragged by the sea on Tomé beach

Navy personnel and artisanal fishermen found the body of the four-year-old boy who, along with his father, Bryan Antonio Salas Ferreira (33) and his nine-year-old sister, disappeared this Friday in the sea off Pingueral Beachin Tome.

The remains of the little boy were detected this Saturday afternoon in the sector of caleta Villarrica de Dichato, approximately two kilometers from the place where they were lost.

According to the frigate captain Jacob Silvahead of the search and rescue operation in the case, the finding was the result of “a very good coordination between the experience of the artisanal fishermen in the area, and the tactics of the Navy personnel”.

Cash highlighted that the industry workers “They know the area very well and they materialized the rescue with our supportwhere more than 200 people carried out the air, land and sea search”.

The child’s body was transferred to the Legal Medical Service, where will be subjected to the corresponding thanatological examinations possibly starting this Sunday, before it is delivered to his family.

The search for the boy’s father and sister will resume this Sunday by the Navy, Firefighters, Police and fishing boats in the area. In addition, the Regional Presidential Delegation had drones to collaborate in the operations.

Prosecutor Ana María Pincheira ordered the investigation to the PDI and the commissioner Elizabeth Flores from the Homicide Squad declared that the disappearance occurred “around 3:30 p.m.,” when the family “was out for a walk on the beach, deciding to sit on the edge of this place.”

At that moment, “a large wave reached them, dragging both minors into the interior of the waters”, so that their parents came to the rescue, “being dragged likewise into the sea, due to the strong waves and swells” that occurred during the day.

The detective added that, at that moment, “people who were passing through the place they could only rescue the mother“.

Those affected are residents of the Talcahuano commune, so the relatives came to Pingueral on this day to accompany the mother in the search.
