This decision was taken in accordance with the health protocols of the NBA, it is specified in a press release from the body, obliged this week to validate a series of postponements.

Two games scheduled for Friday had already been postponed, that of Washington in Detroit and that of Golden State in Phoenix, for similar reasons, as well as three other games on Wednesday including that of Phoenix against the Atlanta Hawks.

While the NBA will attack its fourth week of competition, ten games have already been postponed. Health protocols were revised Tuesday by the NBA and the players’ union.

The new measures were imposed “in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country and the number of quarantines requested by NBA clubs,” the statement said.

On Wednesday, the NBA revealed recent figures on the ongoing pandemic: of 497 players tested since January 6, 16 have returned positive tests.
