NBA: Stan Van Gundy will become the coach of the New Orleans Pelicans

“SVG” will settle in one of the most coveted seats in the NBA. The Louisiana team has great potential with young elements like Brandon Ingram (23), voted most progressed player this season, the spectacular Zion Williamson (20) and Lonzo Ball (22). For their first season in this jersey, these three, ripped off by veterans like Jrue Holiday and JJ Redick, did not reach the play-offs, finishing 13th in the West, as in 2019.

Stan Van Gundy took his teams eight times in the play-offs, going to the final in 2009 with the Orlando Magic (lost 4-1 to the Lakers), worn at the time by Dwight Howard. Before that, he had already gone to the Eastern Conference final with the Miami Heat in 2005. On the other hand, his last stint in Detroit, where he had full power between 2014 and 2018, was less successful.
