Often presented in a caricatural way, this neuropsychiatric syndrome is all the more difficult to live with as it is often accompanied by other disorders. Treatments exist, but specialized caregivers are lacking.

In certain circumstances, the body does as it pleases. This is the case for Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, which affects approximately 1% of the population. “Often described in a caricatural way, this disorder is not yet sufficiently detected”, regrets the Pre Kerstin von Plessen, Head of the University Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) at the Vaud University Hospital Center (CHUV), who recently organized the 14e European congress on the subject.
