“Never leave the planet without a Swiss Army knife” | MON | 26 09 2022 | 3:30 p.m

In 1897, the cutler Karl Elsener from the canton of Schwyz developed his “Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife”. Between a bowl of wood were various blades and tools to unfold. Today, Victorinox produces over 400 models – simple ones with just one blade or thick ones with up to 73 functions. The company in Switzerland manufactures ten million pocket knives every year and sells them worldwide. Many people – young and old – have the officer’s knife in their pocket, exhibited in the “Museum of Modern Art” in New York since 1977. And it even made it into space on the Space Shuttle.
