The merger of Sunrise and UPC at the end of 2020 was the elephant wedding in the Swiss telecoms industry. At that time, Liberty Global – the parent company of UPC – took over Sunrise. Nevertheless, as of next week, the new company Sunrise UPC will again primarily rely on Sunrise as a brand.
With the focus on Sunrise, the telecom group is also launching a new brand design from Monday, as Sunrise UPC announced on Thursday. Sunrise is using a new logo called “Aurora”. Along with Sunrise’s new appearance, the Sunrise UPC payment sports channel MySports is also getting a new design.
For business customers, the main brand Sunrise is now being expanded to include the addition “Business”. Existing UPC customers continued to receive their previous products and services under the UPC brand.
“We are reaching the most important milestone in the integration of Sunrise UPC,” CEO André Krause was quoted as saying in the communiqué about the innovations.
Discounts apply to combined offers
Under the name “Sunrise Up”, Sunrise UPC is also launching the first integrated subscriptions based on the Sunrise brand. The principle is simple: if customers combine mobile communications, Internet and TV, they receive additional discounts. Depending on your choice, they amount to between 20 and 100 francs per month.
As far as the price is concerned, the Up Internet offers start at CHF 59 per month for 200 Mbit/s. Mobile communications start at 25 francs a month for the Up Mobile S offer, and the cheapest TV option called Up TV M costs 20 francs.
In the meantime, Sunrise has entered into a partnership with the streaming provider Netflix for the television offer. With the more expensive offers, customers thus receive the film and series offer from the US provider in a combination tariff, a separate subscription is no longer necessary.
Swisscom also launched a new subscription family
As is well known, Sunrise UPC also works with CH Media when it comes to streaming. The Sunrise Edition of the Swiss streaming service Oneplus from the Aargauer Medienhaus is included in most TV subscriptions.
Meanwhile, the largest Sunrise competitor, Swisscom, had already launched a new subscription family about two weeks ago. This gives customers more surfing speed at home and on the go with the medium subscription. Subscribers with a copper connection don’t get much from the “blue giant”. (SDA)
