New metro to Istanbul! Ministry finished: Days left until opening

In his written statement, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu drew attention to the fact that the construction of a total of 177.3 kilometers of rail system line continues in 13 projects under construction by the Ministry.

Reminding that the Başakşehir-Kayaşehir Metro Line was taken over from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the physical progress of this line was at the level of 5 percent when it was taken over.

Pointing out that the line was made ready for test drives in a short time after the transfer, Karaismailoğlu said, “There are only a few days left until the opening of the 6.2-long line. There are a total of 4 stations on our line, namely Onurkent, Çam and Sakura City Hospital, Kayaşehir and Başakşehir Metrokent stations. With vehicles with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, it has the capacity to serve 70 thousand passengers in one direction per hour. By completing our Başakşehir-Kayaşehir Metro Line, we will bring it together with Çam and Sakura City Hospital, one of the most advanced and most modern hospitals in the world.” made its assessment.

Pointing out that the line was built at an average speed of 25 meters per day, Karaismailoğlu said:

“With the commissioning of the line, there will be a fast, economical and safe transportation opportunity between the city center and Çam and Sakura City Hospital. In addition, the integration of the hospital with other public transportation modes will be ensured. will be integrated into the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport Metro Line at Kayaşehir Station. With this integration, the region will be able to reach the airport by metro. The distance between Metrokent and Istanbul Airport will be 24 minutes, and the distance between Çam and Sakura City Hospital-Bakırköy (Kirazlı) will be 23 minutes.

TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN KAYAŞEHİR-MAHMUTBEY 20 MINUTES

With the commissioning of the line, the travel time between Kayaşehir and Mahmutbey will be 20 minutes, between Metrokent and Freedom Square (Bakırköy) 29 minutes, between Metrokent and Istanbul Airport 24 minutes, and between Çam and Sakura City Hospital-Bakırköy (Kirazlı) 23 minutes.
