New rise in the price of fuels starting this Thursday

As usual, this Wednesday the National Petroleum Company, ENAP, reported a new increase in the price of fuel, which will take effect from Thursday, February 25.

In detail, there will be an increase of $ 6.1 per liter in the value of 93 and 97 octane gasoline, while diesel will have an increase for the same amount; same phenomenon that will occur with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Regarding the reasons for this variation, ENAP pointed out that they are due to the import parity price rule, the Fuel Price Stabilization Mechanism (Mepco), the Oil Price Stabilization Fund (FEEP) and the mechanisms established by the authority.

It should be mentioned that it is not the national entity that sets the prices of fuels in the national market, but rather that its role is as a wholesaler of the different hydrocarbon derivatives to the distribution companies.
