A shooter opened fire Thursday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m. (local time), at a factory in Smithsburg, Maryland. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said three people died and a fourth was seriously injured.
The shooting, described on Twitter as a “mass shooting” by Democrat David Trone, took place at the “Columbia Machine” factory. “The sheriff said earlier in the day that the shooter no longer posed a threat.
