A tourist from New York died today after agents attached to the Maritime Unit of the United Forces Bureau of Rapid Action (FURA) took her from a beach in Condado, San Juan, where she was swept away by ocean currents, police reported.
Another tourist was also rescued in the same events, which occurred at 2:30 in the afternoon, at the back of the Vanderbilt Hotel.
According to preliminary information, both women were transported to the Presbyterian Hospital. One of them, the one in a condition of care, died while being cared for.
Agents attached to the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps together with the prosecutor on duty will continue with the investigation.

This is the second drowning death in Condado this week. And it is that the authorities found last night the body of a man who was reported missing last Tuesday while he was on the beach behind the Hotel La Concha in Condado.
The deceased, identified as Chaze V. Hill, 25, a resident of the state of New Jersey, was washed away by the waves while sharing with his partner.
