In the early morning of this Monday, Healing Day, they lived moments of tension in the Santa Clara Clinic of Mendoza. Relatives of a woman requiring emergency medical attention, they were violently assaulted at the access door to the hospital and one of them ended up injured and arrested.
As indicated from the Santa Clara Clinic, the woman came very seriously after a digestive bleeding. The lady was treated immediately in the Guard but, due to the severity of the state in which she was, passed away in the place.
The altercation occurred at the entrance door to the Clinic, when the woman’s relatives wanted to enter the Guard, a sector that only the patient can access.
The administrator of the Santa Clara Clinic, Jorge Sáez, explained to Diario UNO that it is a common procedure, even outside times of the coronavirus pandemic. Only the patient who requires medical attention accesses the care sector and then their companions are admitted.
In this case, both the security personnel and the doctor on duty experienced a moment of tension when three of the woman’s relatives (who would be her children) wanted to enter by force. As revealed, one of them broke the glass of the entrance portal and, as a result of the injury he suffered, had to be referred to the Central Hospital.
“After the first containment, the family members who were calm were able to access,” said Sáez.
The Clinic filed the complaint at the 40th Police Station in La Estanzuela and the case is brought by the Prosecutor’s Office No. 17. For the fact, the man who was injured was arrested, according to reports from the sanatorium.
