尹Government denuclearization ‘bold plan’
North Korean media “MB policy torn to pieces”
Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin met with Ahn Kwang-il, North Korean ambassador to ASEAN and Indonesian ambassador to Indonesia, in Cambodia, where the ASEAN-related foreign ministers’ meeting was held, and proposed “unconditional inter-Korean dialogue”. Ambassador Ahn expressed his position that ‘creating the conditions comes first’.
According to a high-ranking official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 6th, Minister Park met and greeted Ambassador Ahn at a welcome dinner held at the CICC event site in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 4th. At the time, Minister Park told Ambassador Ahn that “unconditional inter-Korean dialogue is necessary” and hoped that denuclearization would be achieved for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. To this, Ambassador Ahn responded briefly with the intention that ‘conditions must be created’, the official said.
Minister Park said to Ambassador Ahn, “I heard that you are a reasonable person as an ASEAN expert.” North Korea dispatched Ambassador Ahn instead of Foreign Minister Choi to the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) held on the 5th in the aftermath of the corona virus. The ARF is also the only regional multilateral security consultative body in which North Korea participates.
Meanwhile, North Korean media criticized the Yun Seok-yeol administration’s ‘bold plan’ on the roadmap for North Korea’s denuclearization, saying it was nothing more than a re-enactment of the Lee Myung-bak administration’s North Korea policy ‘Denuclearization and Openness 3000’.
On the 7th, the weekly magazine Tongil Shinbo for external use denigrated the bold plan, saying, “It is the proper trimming of the denuclearization and opening 3000 of Lee Myung-bak weightlifter who was thrown into the trash can of history after being criticized as a document for unification by absorption that could not be realized 10 years ago by all sectors of South Korea.” The fact that weightlifter Yoon Seok-yeol brought it up again is the grotesque ugliness of a foolish person.”
