MADRID, 28 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The teams of Norway and Georgia, Spain’s rivals in Group A of the qualifying phase for the 2024 Euro Cup in Germany, tied this Tuesday at one goal in their duel held at the AdjaraBet Arena in the Georgian town of Batumi.
The Norwegian team was facing their second consecutive outing after losing 3-0 last Saturday against Luis de la Fuente’s men at La Rosaleda in Malaga and they were unable to open their winning record against an opponent who demonstrated once again that at home there are always problems and that now it has increased its competitiveness with the talent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a Napoli footballer.
However, Norway had good chances to win in a match in which they took an early lead, after a quarter of an hour, through Real Sociedad striker Alexander Sorloth. Georgia, except for one occasion by its star, was hardly disturbing, but reacted after the break and was more incisive, managing to equalize in the 60th minute through Georges Mikautadze.
From there, the match opened up much more and the visitors had their chances of winning, especially with a very clear shot from Martin Odegaard, who shot over the crossbar with everything in his favor and the Valencian player Mamardashvili already beaten.
