Notre-Dame’s interior design project takes shape

DECRYPTION – It will be presented to the National Heritage and Architecture Commission on December 9. New entrance, new lighting, new tour route, contemporary furniture: what layouts will be chosen?

Concocted for a year in the greatest discretion – which is not always possible as Notre-Dame de Paris arouses passion – the interior design project of the cathedral is taking shape. It has just been partially transmitted to the members of the National Heritage and Architecture Commission (CNPA), who have until December 9 to study it, before meeting in a grand conclave to give their opinion.

There is no doubt that the pages drafted by the Archdiocese will be scrutinized with a magnifying glass: there are many Commission experts, architects and historians, who take a very dim view of the slightest change – they had, moreover, largely expressed themselves in favor of an identical restored arrow. It is however a rather drastic option, although constructed in an opaque manner, which was taken by the assignee of the cathedral.
