November aid should finally flow – hurdles remain

Berlin While Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Ministers have extended the lockdown until the end of January, many companies and the self-employed are still waiting for help for the restrictions in November. So far there have only been advance payments.

That should change soon. In order to alleviate the displeasure of companies and the self-employed about the renewed lockdown extension, the Chancellor and the country leaders promise to transfer the financial support outstanding since November as soon as possible. “The full disbursement of the November aid requested by the federal states will be made by January 10, 2021 at the latest,” said the resolution (you can find the original document here).

The word “from” is likely to make those affected suspicious. Because they have been waiting a long time for their aid requests to be processed. The Federal Ministry of Economics responded to a request from the FDP a week ago on completing the relevant software for checking and processing the applications.
