The power of the people, ‘one after another, without voting’, the atmosphere of de facto election victory
Democratic Party, Yun Ho-jung and Park Ji-hyun mobilize to focus on ‘Sniping Hong Jun-pyo’

On the 17th, two days before the official campaign period for the 6·1 national simultaneous local election, the Democratic Party of Korea and the People’s Party held an election committee inauguration ceremony in Daegu side by side and vowed to win the election.
At 4 pm on the same day, the People’s Power held a ceremony to award nominations and inauguration of the Daegu election committee at the Daegu City Hall auditorium. Most of the candidates, including Rep. Ho-Young Joo (Daegu Suseong-Gu-Gap), who served as the permanent election chairperson, Yong-Pan Kim (Dalseo-Gu-Byung, Daegu), the head of the election headquarters, Dae-Sik Kang (Dong-Gu-Eul, Daegu), and Candidate Hong Jun-pyo of Daegu Mayor attended the event.
The power of the people, who presented a large number of cases of ‘no-vote election’ in Daegu early, created an atmosphere as if victory was in fact confirmed. A significant number of candidates wore plain clothes instead of sportswear to attend, as non-voting winners cannot wear sportswear.
A relaxed atmosphere was sensed in the congratulatory speech of the officials. Rep. Joo Ho-young said, “Elected positions are not a place to be treated, but a position for a servant who provides unlimited service.
He added, “A tiger does his best even when he catches a rabbit. Daegu is a place with overwhelming support for the people’s power, so please do your best without thinking that it is okay to be flustered.”
Rep. Kim Yong-pan also said, “There are many people who worry that the voter turnout could be lowered because Daegu has too many non-voting districts.” Let’s try,” he said.

On the same day, the Daegu City Party of the Democratic Party of Korea held a ceremony to win the election at the election office for Daegu Mayor Seo Jae-heon in Seo-gu.
59 people attended the event, including Ho-jung Yun and Ji-hyeon Park, chairman of the Joint Emergency Response Committee of the Central Party, Candidate Seo, Min-gu Kang, Yu-jin Jeon, Wan-sik Choi, Chang-hee Choi (above alphabetically) for the head of the basic group, and candidates for metropolitan and basic councils.
In a congratulatory speech, Park Ji-hyeon, chairman of the Brigade, said, “Please remember that former Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom said, ‘The farmer does not blame the field’ six years ago. I believe it,” he said.
Next, Hong Joon-pyo, the People’s Strength, was a ‘sniper’ remarks toward Daegu mayor candidate. Chairman Park criticized Candidate Hong, saying, “How long are you going to depend on regionalism to eat and drink?” and said, “Daegu is not bone soup. There is no place to come, so I came back to Daegu.”
Chairman Yun Ho-jung also said, “Candidate Hong is the person who closed the Gyeongnam (Jinju) Medical Center while serving as Gyeongnam Province governor following the abolition of free meals. has the ambition to more than double the public medical service by establishing the second Daegu Medical Center. Daegu citizens will surely respond.”
He also appealed for support, saying, “Please bring down the one-party system in Daegu where Syngman Rhee’s dictatorship has stopped.”
Candidate Seo also said vigorously, “The candidates, party members, and citizens will come together as a team to create uproar in Daegu.”
On the other hand, the Democratic Party’s Daegu election committee is chaired by former Daegu city party chairman Lee Jae-yong, Lim Dae-yun, Nam Chil-woo, and Kim Dae-jin, the permanent election chairman. Twelve regional chairpersons act as co-election chairpersons for each committee.
