What is the release date of One Piece: Red?
The One Piece Red movie is planned in France for August 10, 2022, in cinemas. Teased by Eiichiro Oda and announced during episode 1000 of the anime adaptation, the film is scheduled to be released on August 6, 2022 in Japan. Fortunately, the wait will not be too long, to the delight of fans. Only 4 sleeps to wait, and to avoid any spoilers that could be lying around on the internet, especially Twitter. As a reminder, we had to wait 2 months (far too many sleeps) to finally see One Piece: Stampede, the previous film, arrive in our country.
Well, it’s very nice to have the date, but how can we see the movie One Piece Red in France? Just at the movies! After its release in dark rooms, it will be necessary to wait 17 months before seeing the animated film arrive on a streaming platform. In the trailer, Jimbei is part of Luffy’s crew during this movie. So it necessarily takes place after the arc of Whole Cake Island, in which Straw Hat faces one of the four emperors, Big Mom. In this film, we learn that Shanks has a daughter, Uta. This kind of script twist will necessarily be taken into account in the manga, under penalty of inconsistency. The arrival of revelations on Shanks has also been announced, and they will therefore be part of the scenario for the sequel to One Piece.

It is, once again, the Toei Animation which takes care of the production of the film One Piece Red. We find in the realization Gorō Taniguchi, which we have already seen for the incredible Code Geass. In the scenario, we have Tsutomu Kuroiwa which has already proven itself on One Piece: Gold or Black Butler. Like always, Eiichirō Order takes on the role of producer. Of course, we will find the Official Seiyūs of the work, with Mayumi Tanaka for Luffy, Kazuya Nakai for Zoro, Akemi Okamura for Nami, etc.
