Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Thursday during a press conference on COVID-19 that vaccination against Covid-19 would be open to people with high-risk pathologies from next Monday. More than 700 vaccination centers should then be opened, said the Prime Minister.
People with “high-risk” pathologies will be able to be vaccinated against Covid-19 from Monday in one of the “700 centers” of vaccination open from that date in the territory, said Thursday Jean Castex. In addition to those over 75 years old, nearly 800,000 people “suffering from particularly serious diseases” will be able to receive the vaccine, in particular people suffering from severe renal insufficiency, those having had an organ transplant, people under treatment for cancer or again those with Trisomy 21, detailed the Minister of Health Olivier Véran during the weekly press conference of the government. The list also includes some rare diseases, the ministry said.
These people will need a prescription from their doctor beforehand, added Olivier Véran. For people with disabilities, Secretary of State Sophie Cluzel said Thursday in a press release that “an Easy To Read and Understand (FALC) sheet” was available on the website of the Secretary of State to “facilitate understanding of the vaccination process and ensuring that everyone is properly informed ”. In total, 6.4 million people are thus “called to be vaccinated” from Monday, according to Olivier Véran.
